Mig Kimpton has spent over thirty years working in theatre. From his first job at the Bristol Hippodrome, making coffee and tearing tickets, he is now the Executive Director for the Arts Theatre. In the interim, he has run West End theatres, including The Playhouse at Charing Cross, managed tours for Lesley Joseph, Sandi Toksvig, Sian Phillips, Elaine Stritch, Janet Street Porter and Lily Savage, and has toured with Sir Ian McKellen in the UK, South Africa and on Broadway. He has also worked for the Royal Shakespeare Company in a variety of contracts.
As producer, Mig has been responsible for many charity galas, including ten Stonewall Equality Shows at the Royal Albert Hall. In 1993 he joined with Kevin Spacey and Sir Elton John to produce a Grand Concert at the Old Vic Theatre, and was Associate Producer on Aladdin at the Old Vic starring Sir Ian McKellen. He has produced three plays at the Arts Theatre, recently Storm in a Flower Vase based on the life of Constance Spry.
Mig also has a passion for flowers: he is a floral designer and national demonstrator and has won many awards, including seven prestigious medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. His new theatrical one man flower show premiered at the Old Mill in Guildford this year and will be seen on tour in the autumn..
